Muso works with the Malian government design and test proactive, community-led health systems for universal health care, maternal health, and child survival. In 2017, Muso launched a three-year randomized-control trial (RCT) in central Mali to examine the impact of its proactive care model on child mortality and other key health indicators. Endline data will be collected for this trial in 2020, with results published in 2021. With both an in-house research team and a growing technical assistance branch, Muso is ideally positioned to leverage the results of this research to support national health reform in Mali and improve the lives of millions of Malians. Supplemental COVID-19 funding is supporting Muso's work with the Ministry of Health to disseminate COVID-19 curriculum and protocols and provide training for community health workers, contact tracers and other frontline health workers. It will also support PPE provision among Muso's frontline project staff.
