Survive and Thrive in Brazil - the Boa Vista Early Childhood Intervention Program

The project will deliver Survive and Thrive in Brazil, a an evidence-based curriculum adapted for the Brazilian context to support caregivers delivered by a new cadre of specially trained workers called Child Development Agents (CDAs) that are exclusively focused on child development. The curriculum is an adaptation of Reach Up, an evidence- based program that includes detailed guidance and activities for CDAs for each interactions with parents, formalized training manuals, and toy making manuals. The main curriculum for Survive and Thrive in Brazil for children ages aged 9 months and up has already been developed and was successfully implemented in São Paulo. A curriculum for children 0-9 months is currently being developed by Reach Up and will be adapted for Brazil at the start of the this TTS project. In addition, the team will add a prenatal and neonatal curriculum based on the Brazilian Ministry of Health’s Guidelines.
